What Heritage Park Actually Is

City economic development staff have called the Heritage District a "30-year overnight success story." Heritage Park is their word for what comes next — the sequel that takes downtown Gilbert from a beloved restaurant row into a true mixed-use urban node.

The project sits on a full city block at Gilbert Road and Juniper, right in the heart of the Heritage District. Phase 1 covers about 10 acres and is already underway after a May 2025 groundbreaking. But Phase 1 is just the opener. Full build-out of Heritage Park is expected to exceed 800,000 square feet, layering in a planned 154,000 square foot five-story office building, a roughly 100-room hotel, and additional restaurants and retail. Initial openings are anticipated in late 2026, with NOVEL Heritage Park projected to open spring 2027.
